Ronnie Jones is the former Chairman of the Louisiana Gaming Control Board and was named the IMGL North American Regulator of the Year in 2017. He is a gaming regulatory consultant and is currently a member of the Entain U.S. Compliance Committee. He recently completed his 45th year of public service in Louisiana and stepped down from his position as Chairman of the Gaming Control Board on June 2, 2020. He had been appointed Chairman in 2013 and oversaw an industry which annually generated more than billion in total net revenue and nearly three-quarters of a billion dollars in state fees. He was reappointed by Governor John Bel Edwards in July 2019. He and his board oversaw the activities of 15 riverboat properties, the land-based casino in the city of New Orleans, more than 2,000 licensed video poker establishments and four racetrack slot gaming facilities. His previous experience includes a 32-year career in the Louisiana State Police where he served as the agency's Deputy Superintendent and managed the original legislation which legalized gambling in Louisiana in 1992. As a senior advisor to the Superintendent, he played a key role in creating the initial gaming regulatory structure and the promulgation of gaming rules and regulations. He also has extensive experience in the academic sector in both public and private universities.
