Roger Parkes
 has been involved in the gambling industry for over thirty years. He has been both regulator and operator in the on-line and off-line sectors in jurisdictions including Australia, New Zealand, Egypt, Greece, Alderney and the UK. He was closely involved in developing the risk-based compliance model for the New Zealand casino regulator which was later adopted by many of the Australian jurisdictions. He has also been involved in the regulatory testing of internet based gaming systems in Australia, Isle of Man and Alderney and was also involved with developing the Alderney remote gaming standards.

 Since moving to the northern hemisphere, Roger has worked for the Alderney Gambling Control Commission and more recently, consulted to the UK Gambling Commission to assist in developing the UK’s internet gambling regime. Roger joined Betway where, as Director of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs, he leads a large team responsible for the regulatory compliance, responsible gambling, licensing, anti-money laundering, GDPR and integrity of all markets offered by the company.
Roger is qualified as a CPP (Certified Protection Professional) through ASIS International and a member of a number of UK professional security organisations. He has been further recognised by legal and compliance professionals across the industry, having received the inaugural Compliance Lifetime Achievement Award. He speaks regularly at conferences on compliance and regulatory issues and is a member of the International Masters of Gaming Law.
