Thomas N. Auriemma is one of the casino industry’s leading gaming attorneys and consultants. He has a wealth of knowledge based on almost 40 years of experience. He is currently the Chairman of the Penn National Gaming, Inc. Compliance Committee. From 2007 to 2011, Auriemma was the Vice President/Chief Compliance Officer of Penn National Gaming, Inc. and the president of a number of its subsidiaries. Penn National is a regionally diversified gaming company and one of North America’s largest operators of gaming facilities. He is also a member of the Compliance Committee of Casino Rama in Ontario, Canada, a Penn National Gaming operated facility. In January 2013, Auriemma was appointed as the Chairman of the Compliance Committee of Cadillac Jack, Inc., a leading supplier of innovative games and systems to the global gaming industry. Subsequently, Cadillac Jack’s parent company, Amaya Gaming Group, Inc., appointed Auriemma as Chairman of its Compliance Committee. Amaya is an entertainment solutions provider for the gaming industry. In 2014, MGM Resorts International, one of the world’s leading global hospitality companies, named Auriemma a member of its Compliance Committee. Auriemma has been an adjunct faculty member at Rutgers School of Law-Newark in Newark, New Jersey, where he created and taught a gaming law course. From 2011 to 2013, Auriemma was a member of the Board of Directors of Revel AC, Inc., a company that owned a casino hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey; he was the Chairman of Revel’s Compliance Committee and a member of its Audit and Compensation Committees. Auriemma is also a strategic advisor to gaming and other companies. Previously, Auriemma was a casino regulator in New Jersey for over 28 years. In 2002, he was appointed by the Governor of New Jersey as the Director of the Division of Gaming Enforcement, one of the world’s leading casino regulatory agencies. He held this position until 2007. He also served as the Deputy Director for the agency for over a decade. In these roles, Auriemma served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of New Jersey. Auriemma’s previous experience includes working as a Deputy Attorney General in the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice and as the Deputy Director of the New Jersey Casino Control Commission’s Legal Division. He has been one of the few individuals to be employed by both casino regulatory agencies in New Jersey. Auriemma also has experience in the private practice of law. Auriemma is a member of the New Jersey and New York bars and has been admitted to practice law before the Third Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. Auriemma has served as the Secretary, Vice Chair, and Chair of the International Association of Gaming Regulators and is a member of the International Association of Gaming Advisors and the International Masters of Gaming Law. He is a prolific speaker on gaming issues at national and international conferences and universities. Auriemma received his Juris Doctor degree from Seton Hall University School of Law where he graduated second in his class and was a National Law Student Intern at the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office in Newark, New Jersey. Following law school, he was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Marilyn Loftus, a Superior Court Judge in New Jersey. Auriemma received a Bachelor of Arts Magna Cum Laude in History from Seton Hall University and was the recipient of that school’s History Excellence Award in 1972.
