Terms of Service

1. About IMGL

The International Masters of Gaming Law (“IMGL,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is an international professional organization dedicated to advancing knowledge, education, and collaboration in gaming law and regulation.

These Terms of Service govern your use of the IMGL website, membership services, event registration services, educational programs, and other services provided by IMGL.

By accessing our website, registering for an event, applying for membership, or using our services, you agree to these Terms of Service.

2. Membership

IMGL membership is subject to the organization’s membership criteria, application procedures, and approval requirements.

Membership benefits, categories, and eligibility requirements may be established or amended by IMGL from time to time.

Members are responsible for providing accurate contact and professional information and keeping their profiles reasonably up to date. Membership may be subject to annual dues and other requirements established by IMGL.

Payment of membership dues does not, by itself, guarantee acceptance into membership where an application and approval process is required.

Membership dues are non-refundable, except where otherwise required by applicable law or expressly approved in writing by IMGL.

3. Event Registration and Payments

IMGL organizes conferences, seminars, webinars, masterclasses, networking events, and other professional activities.

Registration may require payment of applicable fees. All prices will be displayed during the registration or checkout process, and payments must be completed through the designated payment platform.

Registrants are responsible for providing accurate registration and payment information. Event registrations are subject to the applicable event-specific terms, deadlines, and cancellation policies published at the time of registration.

IMGL reserves the right to make reasonable changes to event programs, speakers, schedules, venues, or formats when necessary. If an event is cancelled or materially changed, IMGL will communicate applicable arrangements to registered participants.

Refund eligibility for event registrations is governed by the applicable event cancellation policy and IMGL’s Refund and Cancellation Policy.

4. Website Use and User Conduct

You agree to use the IMGL website and services lawfully and respectfully. You must not:

  • Use the website for fraudulent, unlawful, or misleading purposes.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to IMGL systems, accounts, or data.
  • Interfere with website functionality, security, or availability.
  • Submit false, misleading, or unauthorized information.
  • Use IMGL’s website, directory, or member information for unsolicited commercial communications, unauthorized solicitation, or other purposes prohibited by applicable law or IMGL policies.

IMGL reserves the right to restrict access to its website or services where necessary to protect its operations, members, or other users.

5. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the IMGL name, logos, website content, original publications, educational materials, and other organizational materials are owned by IMGL or used with permission.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, publish, or commercially exploit IMGL-owned materials without prior written permission, except where permitted by applicable law.

Speakers and contributors retain any rights they hold in their own materials, subject to any separate permissions or agreements entered into with IMGL.

6. Educational and Professional Information

IMGL provides educational programming, professional networking, and information relating to gaming law and regulation.

Information provided through IMGL’s website, publications, events, or educational programs is for general informational and educational purposes only. It does not constitute legal advice or establish a lawyer-client relationship.

Participants should seek independent professional advice where appropriate. IMGL does not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or continued currency of information presented by speakers, contributors, or third parties.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

IMGL may use third-party platforms for event registration, payment processing, email communications, virtual events, and other services.

Use of these services may be subject to the relevant provider’s terms and privacy policies. IMGL is not responsible for the independent practices of third-party providers, except to the extent required by applicable law.

8. Privacy and Personal Information

IMGL collects and uses personal information to administer membership, process registrations and payments, communicate with members and prospects, deliver events and services, and operate the organization.

Personal information will be handled in accordance with IMGL’s Privacy Policy, which explains the types of information collected, how it is used and shared, and the rights individuals may have under applicable data protection laws.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, IMGL will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of its website, membership services, or participation in its programs.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

10. Changes to These Terms

IMGL may update these Terms of Service periodically to reflect changes to its services, operations, or applicable requirements. Updated Terms will be posted on the IMGL website with a revised effective or last-updated date.

Your continued use of IMGL’s website and services following publication of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Refund and Cancellation Policy

IMGL aims to provide clear and transparent payment, refund, and cancellation terms for its members, conference attendees, and program participants.

1. Membership Dues

All membership dues are non-refundable.

Membership dues are not refundable, in whole or in part, if a member resigns, chooses not to participate in IMGL activities, or otherwise does not use the benefits associated with membership.

Membership dues are also non-transferable.

2. Conference and Event Registration

Refunds for conference and event registrations are subject to the cancellation policy published for the specific event at the time of registration.

Unless an event’s published terms state otherwise, the following general policy applies:

  • Refund requests must be submitted in writing to IMGL.
  • The applicable refund amount is determined by the date IMGL receives the cancellation request.
  • Refunds, where approved, will generally be issued to the original payment method.
  • Any applicable processing or administrative deductions will be disclosed in the event-specific policy before registration.
  • Registrations may not be transferred to another individual or event without IMGL’s written approval.

3. Event-Specific Cancellation Policies

Individual IMGL events may have different cancellation deadlines and refund schedules depending on venue commitments, catering arrangements, hotel guarantees, and other event-related expenses.

For example, the IMGL Autumn Conference held September 23–25, 2026, used the following cancellation schedule:

  • By July 31, 2026: 100% refund.
  • August 1–31, 2026: 50% refund.
  • September 1–11, 2026: 25% refund.
  • September 12, 2026, onward: No refunds.

These dates apply only to that specific event and are provided as an example of how event-specific terms may operate. Future events may use different deadlines, which will be communicated during registration.

4. Event Cancellation or Significant Changes by IMGL

If IMGL cancels an event, IMGL will communicate the available options to registered participants, including any applicable refund arrangements.

If an event is postponed, rescheduled, moved to a different venue, or materially changed, IMGL will communicate the arrangements applicable to that event.

Any refund or alternative arrangement will be subject to the event-specific terms and applicable law.

5. Membership and Event Payment Errors

If you believe you have been charged incorrectly or have a duplicate payment, please contact IMGL promptly so that the transaction can be reviewed and any confirmed error corrected.

6. How to Request a Refund

Where a refund is permitted under the applicable event policy, please submit your request to:

Email: brien@imgl.org

Please include your name, event name, registration details, and the reason for your request.

IMGL will review the request in accordance with the applicable policy and communicate the outcome.
