Martin Sychold has been advising since the early 1990s on the legal issues created by gambling of all types. He led the comparative studies of European and overseas gambling regulation which were used as a basis for the complete reform of Swiss legislation governing casino gambling, lotteries, betting and machine gambling. He coordinated the research conducted by the Swiss Institute of Comparative Law into the legal aspects of cross-bording gambling on the internet and contributed to the resulting publication with a detailed analysis of player protection mechanisms. In between, Martin managed the ”Study of Gambling Services in the EU Internal Market” which the Institute prepared for the European Commission and the "International vergleichende Analyse des Glücksspielwesens" prepared for the German Länder. He has spoken at a number of key conferences and is a member of Expert Advisory Commission on Gaming appointed by the government of the Principality of Liechtenstein.
