NCPG Board of Directors Regarding Legalization of Sports Gambling

On Monday, December 4, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments on New Jersey's challenge to the constitutionality of the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) of 1992. This law effectively bans traditional sports betting outside of Nevada and if overturned, could lead to the single biggest expansion of gambling in our Nation's history. As the only national advocate for problem gambling services, NCPG has been closely following this case, ensuring that our position is reaching key influencers and the media. There are numerous ways the case could be resolved by the Supreme Court. Regardless of the decision, NCPG is prepared to continue the fight for accountability and responsible gaming, as well as securing sufficient resources are dedicated to problem gambling education and treatment.
