Dr. Matthias Spitz is a partner with the German law firm MELCHERS LAW and specializes in gaming law, with a focus on European law and administrative matters. Since 2013, he is a member of the International Masters of Gaming Law.

He advises clients on the legal developments in online gambling and sports betting in Germany and, specifically, on the implementation of new gambling products on the German market and the development of advertising strategies for operators of online gaming. He is also experienced in all aspects of European law. His areas of practice further cover administrative proceedings against regulatory measures and counseling of casino operators.

Prior to joining the law firm’s head office in Heidelberg, he graduated at the University of Mannheim in 2006 and studied at the German University for Administrative Sciences in Speyer. He is now a frequent writer for leading magazines of the gambling industry.
