Remembering Professor Robert Hannum
March 2018

Robert Hannum passed away in January of this year. Hannum was a professor of finance and been a member of the University of Denver Daniels College of Business community since 1979. He served as chair of the Department of Statistics and Operations Technology from 1987 to 1991 before that department became Business Information and Analytics. His research interests focused on statistics, in particular the mathematics of gambling. He received his PhD and MS from Florida State University.

Remembering Michael Ficaro​

It is with deep regret that we inform you of the death of long time IMGL General Member, Michael Ficaro of Nixon Peabody.  Mike was one of the founding members of the organization.   

Mike was a highly acclaimed trial lawyer with extensive experience in all facets of litigation including administrative hearings, business licensing, business litigation, complex commercial litigation, class action plaintiff and defense, injunction practice, municipal law, shareholder disputes, tort actions, trust and estate litigation, as well as section 1983 plaintiff and defense litigation. His practice included the representation of law firms and lawyers in disciplinary, malpractice, contempt, sanctions and fee disputes. He also had extensive experience involving criminal representation of corporate officers in white-collar criminal defense, as well as criminal environmental defense, and general criminal defense. In addition, Mike’s practice included the representation of corporations and individuals in gaming licensing matters as well as the representation of casino license holder, shareholders of gaming companies and gaming suppliers in regulatory matters before the Illinois Gaming Board.
